I have prepared this document to answer questions about The Spirit of Christ, His Eternal Being, The Word of God and His manifestation during the church age.
1Peter 1:10 As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful search and inquiry, 11 seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow. 12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven--things into which angels long to look.
It is clear that Christ is Spirit and that He, in His earthly ministry, preceded Jesus by a few thousand years. He was IN THE OLD TESTAMENT PROPHETS and was speaking and prophesying through them. Why? He is also the Living and Abiding Word of God. The Eternal Christ was also IN JESUS and spoke in Him. Christ is the voice of God who speaks to His people. What does He speak? The Word of God!
Nevertheless, Christ is a person and one with the Godhead! He had no beginning of day and no end of Life! Christ is the Spirit of Prophesy. He spoke in the Old Testament prophets and he also speaks in the New Covenant saints.
Hebrews 1:1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, 2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.
Christ, the Spirit of prophesy, is still functioning in humanity today. Even though this is one of the mysteries
Col 1:25 Of this church I was made a minister according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, that I might fully carry out the preaching of the word of God, 26 that is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations; but has now been manifested to His saints, 27 to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
It is this MERGING of divinity with humanity that is still a great mystery. Here the
mystery is revealed Which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. When we add the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the possibility of the Father coming to dwell in us, the possibilities within the Christian Life are unlimited. My point is this; The Spirit of Christ which was in the prophets, was in Jesus, the Man, is also in us.
Romans 8:9 However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
The Spirit of Christ is also the Spirit of Life. He is also our New Spirit!
Ezekiel 36:26 "Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 "And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.
These prophets spoke by the Spirit of Christ who was within them. Ezekiel prophesied that God was going to put a New Spirit (the Spirit of Christ) in us and also He was going to put His Spirit ( the Holy Spirit) in us and cause us.
In Romans 8 Paul confirms these two Spirits; The Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ! Prophesy by either of these; the Spirit of God or the Spirit of the Word can and must be believed and acted upon. This is not the problem today. The problem is that “man,” himself, is just talking and calling that prophesy!
Christ, the Person; The Word (Logos) and The Eternal Christ manifested; the Spirit of Christ, may still be a great mystery. However, we believe God wants to reveal this mystery; Christ in us, The Living and Abiding Word of God, to all who can hear. Why? It is in this MERGING of divinity with humanity that allows us the privilege and possibility to function in the Priesthood, inner Life, Holy Place ministry.
It is because our theme revolves around these Spiritual Words, which refer to another realm and time, extending from Eternity past to Eternity future, that their lack of acceptance and a lack understanding has caused some confusion. When we add the Person of the Eternal Christ to the Man, Christ Jesus, another confusion exists. Then when we add His relationship to the God-head as “with” or “one” (as the Word become flesh) and then when we add His human nature as the Man– Christ Jesus– it is little wonder why so much confusion exists. If we begin with “the Logos,” which is God, but also who was with God in the beginning, Who has become manifested in the Man, Christ Jesus, it is nearly beyond the limited capacity of mankind to comprehend any logical explanation. Also, any logical explanation must carry a certain amount of uncertainty and even some speculation. Why? Not all things Spiritual and Eternal are logical.
1Corinthians 2:10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man, which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things freely given to us by God, 13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. 14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.
logos log'-os WORDFrom G3004; something said (including the thought); by implication a topic (subject of discourse), also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive; by extension a computation; specifically (with the article in John) the Divine Expression (that is, Christ): - account, cause, communication, X concerning, doctrine, fame, X have to do, intent, matter, mouth, preaching, question, reason, + reckon, remove, say (-ing), shew, X speaker, speech, talk, thing, + none of these things move me, tidings, treatise, utterance, word, work.
Even the Greek explanation of the Word Logos (which IS God) from Vines Dictionary, is
so abstract and universal, that it doesn’t really help us understand much better. If we add the Greek word rhema which is translated as WORD it further adds to the confusion, especially when they say that Christ, the Person, speaks the Rhema.
rhēma – hray'-mah From G4483; an utterance (individually, collectively or specifically); by implication a matter or topic (especially of narration, command or dispute); with a negative naught whatever: - + evil, + nothing, saying, word.
John 3:34 "For He whom God has sent speaks the words (rhema) of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure. 35 "The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. 36 "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."
Psalms 107:19 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. 20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.
Christ Jesus ; The Word Of God; (Logos) Speaks the Words of God; Rhema. It is because it was the Father that Sent the Word (logos) that if any do not obey (the Son) Christ Jesus, he will never experience Life. (ZOE)
Now it is getting a little clearer that the Word (Logos) that was made flesh, Christ; the Word expressed or manifested; will certainly SPEAK THE WORDS (RHEMA) OF GOD!
It is from this understanding that I have “reasoned” that IF CHRIST (Logos) WHO IS OUR LIFE dwells in us and we have received the Holy Spirit without measure, that we also should be able to speak the Words of God. Since we have been born again by the Living and Abiding Word of God, the New Man , New Species, (Christ in us), provides 100% for the ministry of the Word (Logos and Rhema).
Peter 1:22 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, 23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and abiding word (Logos) of God.
Colossians 3:1 If then you have been raised up with Christ (Christos) , keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. 3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ (Christos) , who is our life, (Zoe) is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
While our inclusion in “Christ” is a God given position we are designed to hold for eternity, so that we are even “raised up with Christ to the Right Hand of God”, it seems that “Christ,” the expression of the Logos, is synonymous with our being born again. We could say that when we are born again by the Living and Abiding Word (Logos) of God that Christ; the Person (the Logos) and Christ ; the Rhema (the expression of the Logos) becomes our life!
Romans 8:9. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
We soon discover that “Christ is Spirit” and if we have not received HIM, the Spirit of Christ, ( the Living and Abiding Word of God) we are not even included with Him. While we receive the Man, Christ Jesus, as our Savior, as our Sacrifice and as our righteousness, we receive the Spirit of Christ as our Life, Zoe! Our being Born Of God (born again) begins here!
While Christ is Spirit, He is also a Person! It is for that reason that Christ the Spirit is confused with Jesus, the person. Still, Christ is a Person who is One with the Godhead. He is NOT the fourth person of the trinity but the Word, Logos, become flesh, the Person who speaks the Rhema. The Holy Spirit also Speaks the Rhema or a word from God and the Words from Christ! “For He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.”
John 14:10 "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words (Rhema) that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. 11 "Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me; otherwise believe on account of the works themselves.
What, then, is our position before God? If we have the Spirit without measure, we, also, can speak the Words (Rhema) of God. This is what we are calling the New Covenant Ministry of the Word! None of this is reality unless Divinity has merged with humanity and has created in us a new Species of persons who have been born of God. Christ in us is the beginning of this transformation.
Remember, the Prophets, the Kings and the Priests were called “Christos”; “the Anointed of God or Messiah.” However, they were not called the Son of the Most High God. Now, Christ Jesus, The Son of God, has become Our King / Priest after the Order of Melchizedek. He is now CHRISTOS, THE ULTIMATE ANOINTED ONE!
We may still have some confusion. Why? That is because “Christos,” the Christ of God, the anointed one, is also the PERSON (from God) who is “IN the Person, Jesus” who was born of God. Christ, the Person, the Word of God, also speaks the Words of God, the Rhema, and speaks through the Person, Jesus, who was Born of God.
John 3:34 "For He whom God has sent speaks the words (rhema) of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.
This could just all be just academic and not practical except Christ still speaks the Rhema today IN THOSE WHO HAVE THE SPIRIT WITHOUT MEASURE. Remember, Christ, Christos, Messiah IS the anointed one! As Priests we, also, must have the forgiveness of sins, the anointing of the Holy Spirit and offer the full consecration offering and pass through the Second Veil of experiential TRUTH / REALITY. This is what we are calling “fulness!” (Without Measure)
2Corinthians 13:3 since you are seeking for proof of the Christ who speaks in me, and who is not weak toward you, but mighty in you.
Our theory is this; In the same way that the Spirit of Christ spoke through the prophets, The Spirit of Christ is now Speaking in His Son. However, it is God’s Plan and His Purpose to speak today through The Body of Christ. It is my opinion that God must Speak the Rhema though His New Covenant Ministers first. Why? He spoke in Paul and in other Apostles during the church age!
When Jesus said “Before Abraham was, I am” that was obviously the Spirit of Christ speaking. Why? Jesus was not yet 30 years old. If we examine Jesus’ words carefully, we will discover that many of His words were not just about Him but applied to things BEFORE HIM. Many of His words did not originate in Jesus but just repeated from what He heard the Father say. The Word, Logos, was able to speak through Jesus, the Rhema.
It is that reality that is available to us today. My theory is this; That will be normal in the Holy Place Life and Ministry. Why?
This “ministry” is totally within The Illumination of the Seven Spirits of God (without measure) and the Showbread (Rhema -within- eaten). I am guessing this will be the Corporate Priesthood Ministry after the Order of Melchizedek.
