556 –   A Fantasy Introduction to the Book Of Hebrews

            My Introduction to the Introduction

The Arrogance of Our Personal Opinion

October 19, 2013

In 1970, 43 years ago, my wife and I set a time to pray and seek God. During that time we felt God had spoken to us in “words” something like this; READ THE BOOK OF HEBREWS FOR THERE YOU WILL FIND THE ISSUES OF LIFE.

For five nights My wife read the whole book to me and then I read the whole book to her. Each night we used a different translation. At that time we had a very close relationship and fellowship with about 12 Pentecostal / Charismatic people with which we met often. We relayed this “prophetic word” to the group but God had not spoken to them so no one responded but us.

It was this encounter that began to clarify and focus our understanding of the Tabernacle of Moses and later the Tabernacle of God. The Eternal Purpose of God was the logical conclusion to this study along with the Kingdom of God and the eternal Kingdom of Priests.

Even with all that background I had no clear understanding of the magnificent fulness of the content of this book. Just recently, some new understanding has been gained in which I felt it good to write a fantasy introduction to this book. This is only for the purpose understanding the content of why this book is essential to the church at this time.

My personal interest revolves around certain “earned” criticism of some things I have written and my railing against the church and degrading the very work of God. The thought is that God is responsible for the church and Christ is building His church the way He wants it and that removes the church from human responsibility and beyond the realm of human judgement.

Of course that is true and who am I to interfere with Christ and His work. If the church He is building is the same as the visible church it is certain that I have no defense against that observation.

Why then haven’t you changed your tactics? It seems clear that the visible church today has many of the same characteristics and failures as the Hebrews and that the power of this epistle addresses these same issues today. This Epistle is certainly current and relevant for the church today. Since there seems to be more and real persecution ahead for real Christianity, the danger of giving up the eternal substance of Christ, the Sovereign Head, for some counterfeit of true religion is upon us now.

It is estimated by Christian Publications, and I have guessed as much, that about 80 % of all church going Christians have no knowledge of scripture or its real content. This opens the “church” and its leaders up to deceiving and being deceived. It is for that reason that it appears the Book of Hebrews is the revelation necessary for the church today to return to the plan and purpose of God. Therefore, I will record this fantasy introduction to the Book of Hebrews.

Dear Brethren,

Since my visit with you and you being acquainted with me and my understanding, I am writing this letter. It has come to my attention and has been confirmed by others that have visited you Hebrew Christians, who have fled from Italy because of the persecution, that certain local discussions have affected your eternal vision. It has come to my attention that you have drifted away from the very basics of the Christian faith and have become very casual, indifferent and not listening to correction. The consequences are that in your Christian life you have departed from the gospel that you originally heard from me and others.

It has even been reported that you are comparing the Angels, or Moses, or the Law, or the sacrifices, or the High Priest as being equal with Jesus, the Christ, God’s Son, who is the Messiah spoken of though the prophets.

As Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles, has written, this also applies to what I am sharing.

Rom 9:1 I am telling the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit, 2 that I have great sorrow and unceasing grief in my heart. 3 For I could wish that I myself were accursed, separated from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh,

Rom 9:4 who are Israelites, to whom belongs the adoption as sons and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the Law and the temple service and the promises, 5 whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen. 6 But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel; 7 neither are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but: “THROUGH ISAAC YOUR DESCENDANTS WILL BE NAMED.” 8 That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants.

You, of all people, should be totally conscious and fully aware of the eternal effect of this casual and indifferent lifestyle you have adopted. By this time all of you should have become teachers of the New Covenant but it is clear you are still just babies in the things relating to Jesus, the Christ of God. To compare Him as equal with Angels or Moses or to the High Priest after the Order of Aaron or reverting back to animal sacrifices is a serious affront to God, the Almighty.

(Heb 13:7) Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever. 9 Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, through which those who were thus occupied were not benefitted. 10 We have an altar, from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat. 11 For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside the camp. 12 Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate. 13 Hence, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. 14 For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come. 15 Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.

Heb 13:23 Take notice that our brother Timothy has been released, with whom, if he comes soon, I shall see you.

However, at the present time, it is my intention to encourage you to focus your attention fully upon Christ Jesus, our Great High Priest who is actively and continually functioning as our current High Priest whom is administrating the New Covenant and all its better promises. However, it appears that you are still focusing upon Moses, the Law, the sacrifices and the Old Covenant! My warning is that none of these could bring anyone to perfection. It is amazing that you have not grasped the magnitude of what God, our heavenly Father, has provided for us in Christ and the New Covenant that is so far superior to anything moderated by Moses and certainly far above any function of the angels.

(Col 2:18) Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on visions he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind, 19 and not holding fast to the head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth which is from God. 20 If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as, 21 “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!”

22 (which all refer to things destined to perish with the using)--in accordance with the commandments and teachings of men? 23 These are matters which have, to be sure, the appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence.

Even though I only speak Greek and not Hebrew and use the Greek Scriptures, I know you all, being Hebrews, are familiar with Moses, the Law, the sacrifices, the Temple services and the long history of Israel. My exhortation and encouragement will focus upon those areas of your understanding so you can better comprehend and accept the magnitude of the blessing we all have in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

It is my purpose to be very clear about the dangers of reverting back into Judaism or to fall away from the faith or adopt some casual attitude about salvation. The New Covenant is so far superior to the Old Covent that the old has become totally obsolete and evey aspect has been replaced by the new. I will give you five very serious warnings about the dangers of not continuously moving forward into the experiences and mysteries of God that have been hidden from past generations of the Jews but now has been made known though the church. It is possible that these warning will be offensive to some of the ministers among you but my hope is that you will take these warnings seriously rather than make more excuses about why your so great a salvation is past tense and complete when you believed.

Since you first believed through the eye witness of those who were present when this Gospel of the Kingdom began, I exhort you to take very seriously the things I will share in this letter. It is true that what I will share may appear to be very hard and without love but the magnitude of what God has purposed for the church justifies such language.

It is certain that sufficient time that has passed since you began this journey that you should no longer be such novices in the things of God. For that reason I must speak very plainly and possibly harshly about your lack of concern for the total plan of God, to grow into sonship, be included with the many sons He will bring to Glory and qualify for the Government of the world yet to come. Why? It is clear that God will never put the angels in charge of the next world so this responsibility will fall upon man. Even though I can only write to you briefly, I urge you, brethren, bear with this word of exhortation. My purpose is to stop this downward spiral into apostasy which may be disastrous because of the persecution that is coming. Turning back to Judaism to escape the persecution will have eternal consequences.

Our fathers came to Mount Sinai and had tremendous experiences with God but were never able to enter into Canaan. However, God has now brought us the foot of Mount Zion and with access to the Heavenly Jerusalem and the City of God so be careful and not refuse Him who is speaking because if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less shall we escape who turn away from Him who warns from heaven.

Just as God shook the earth with His great voice at Mount Sinai, even once again He will shake, not only the earth, but everything that can be shaken. Therefore, I am warning every body to attach yourself firmly to the Kingdom and His Sovereign Government because in the end that is the only thing that can not be shaken and is all that can survive the consuming fire, which is our God.

Therefore, I feel it is my responsibility to admonish every man and teach every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ. (Heb 10:26) For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain terrifying expectation of judgment, and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES. 28 Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY.” And again, “THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE.” 31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

The Letter:

Heb 1:1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, 2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. 3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4 having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they.

Heb 1:5 For to which of the angels did He ever say, “THOU ART MY SON, TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN THEE”? And again, “I WILL BE A FATHER TO HIM AND HE SHALL BE A SON TO ME”? 6 And when He again brings the first-born into the world, He says, “AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM.” 7 And of the angels He says, “WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE.” 8 But of the Son He says, “THY THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM. 9 “THOU HAST LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HATED LAWLESSNESS; THEREFORE GOD, THY GOD, HATH ANOINTED THEE WITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS ABOVE THY COMPANIONS.” 10 And, “THOU, LORD, IN THE BEGINNING DIDST LAY THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH, AND THE HEAVENS ARE THE WORKS OF THY HANDS; 11 THEY WILL PERISH, BUT THOU REMAINEST; AND THEY ALL WILL BECOME OLD AS A GARMENT, 12 AND AS A MANTLE THOU WILT ROLL THEM UP; AS A GARMENT THEY WILL ALSO BE CHANGED. BUT THOU ART THE SAME, AND THY YEARS WILL NOT COME TO AN END.” 13 But to which of the angels has He ever said, “SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE THINE ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR THY FEET”? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
