#501 The New Creation: What IS The Evidence?

How Can We Identify The Christian; Is There A Real And Conspicuous Testimony?

How Can We Accept “FLESH” Within the Christian Experience?

December 10, 2011

For the last several years we have been sharing on the NEW BIRTH, the NEW MAN, the NEW CREATION, the New Species, the EMBRYO or the DIVINE CONCEPTION and the NEW LIFE. All this appeared to be very clear, open and up front in its reasonableness and with scriptural evidence. Our purpose was to clearly define what is Christian and what is Not Christian. The reason is that it is clear that what has been passed off as being Christian is either NOT Christian or extremely sub-Christian.

However, we discovered this has left many with even more questions about their personal experience and IF they are really living in the Christian Reality of the New Covenant provision. The question I am asked is this; How will I know if I have experienced these essential things that are indicated by these studies? Is there some evidence so I know that I have received the New Man who is present and growing? Can I be saved without the New Man being birthed in me?

Of course, since the New Man is invisible and resident as an Inner Life, Inner Being and an inner power, the exact knowledge of his existence is very subjective. The individual confidence of his inner reality must remain a personal revelation. But is there some outward evidence that he actually exists? Yes, there really is. In order to explain this phenomena we must use several examples. We will first use the scriptural evidence in the Book of Romans as an inner example because that is the scriptural source of salvation used by most Evangelical Churches! This is very important because it is also in this Book that we discover a condition known as “FLESH.” Along with that evidence we will use the first incarnation of the Living and Abiding Word of God as another outward example of the Divine Impartation. That means the EVIDENCE of receiving the Divine Sperma by which Jesus was conceived.

From Romans 1 to Romans 6 Paul brings the believer from a totally depraved and lost condition of being an enemy of God and indifferent to His purposes, to faith, justification and reconciliation in Chapter 5 and on to Baptism in Water in Chapter 6 and on into a consecration of the Outer Man at the end of Romans 6. Many groups expect to see a visible, changed life at this stage but the general evidence that is expected by some groups is ceasing from gross sins, habits and living a less than Christian life-style. Then they anticipate some conformity to the church doctrines of the local assembly.

What makes the questions I am asked unique is that most all of the people who are personally concerned about the evidence of a new inner man already have these experiences WHEN they ask me the questions that I related.

In these public meetings, and the questions that follow, If we have the time to get to the question BEHIND the questions they ask, I generally find their real concern is about the problems related to in Romans 7 and of course, Romans 8. The question BEHIND the question about the New Inner Man begins; “If I am a new creation, a New Species and the Resurrection Life of Christ is working in me why am I still having all these problems? I still have ugly anger, and many other bad manifestations, habits and evidence of the presence of my Old Self. Could I really be a totally New Creation and have all these defects that are so unlike Christ Jesus? It is these manifestations that make me question my Christian experience and doubt my maturity.”

If these problems were just manifest in a very few persons we might give an answer that is far too narrow to be of any help to an individual. However, if the whole group, including the leaders, which are experiencing these things, we may give a kind of answer that assumes this carnality is just normal. We could imply that there is the scriptural IDEAL but then there is the ACTUAL or the reality where we generally live. By that we dismiss ugly behavior, a bad testimony, failure of growth and carnality as the “reality of the Christian life” and obviously normal because it is a universal problem.

My question in response is this; “Is the presence of difficulties, problems, revealed defects and failures the evidence of no life or the evidence of New Life? When did you first notice that you had all these problems? Was it AFTER you became Christian or before?” Of course, before you became Christian you had no idea any of these evil manifestations were even a problem. They were assessed as “my unique personality” but I am NOT a bad person. So then is the consciousness of these “problems, trails, defects and failures” the evidence of an inner life OR are these things evidence of the lack of an new inner life?

In order to set these things into a visible, earth dimension let us begin with the very first Incarnation of the Living and Abiding Word of God. The scriptures permit us to follow the actual experiences of Mary and Joseph after the Divine Sperma was implanted!

Mat 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows. When His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. 19 And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not wanting to disgrace her, desired to put her away secretly. 20 But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for that which has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 “And she will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for it is He who will save His people from their sins.”

If we were Joseph how would we have responded to this new information? Would we rejoice and praise God for this wonderful news or would we wonder if this was some kind of scam?

Luke 1:28 And coming in, he said to her, “Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you.” 29 But she was greatly troubled at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this might be. 30 And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. 31 “And behold, you will conceive in your womb, and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. 32 “He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; 33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and His kingdom will have no end.”

Luke 1:34 And Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?” 35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy offspring shall be called the Son of God.

“Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God!” But just look at what “favor with God” brought to Mary and Joseph. When Jesus was conceived in the womb of Mary by the Sperma of God, the Living and Abiding word of God, multiple TROUBLES came with the blessing! Both she and Joseph were disgraced because they were not yet married. In reality she was still a virgin but now she was pregnant. What was thought to be a great blessing for Israel and mankind turned into misunderstanding, disgrace and rejection for Mary and Joseph. Any story they could tell about a “virgin birth” would be seriously questioned. In 4000 years of history there was no precedent set for this kind of pregnancy. Even Joseph was willing to have her put aside secretly when he found out she was pregnant. He must have thought something here is seriously wrong. Only an angelic intervention caused him to change his mind.

Luke 1:38 And Mary said, “Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; be it done to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. 39 Now at this time Mary arose and went with haste to the hill country, to a city of Judah, 40 and entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth.

Luke 1:41 And it came about that when Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 And she cried out with a loud voice, and said, “Blessed among women are you, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

The point is this; Until there was a divine conception these people just lived a normal life and there was nothing unusual about their existence. As soon as the conception was complete a radical change began to take place. Not just in Mary’s womb but everything about her life AND Joseph’s life began a radical change, both inward and outward! Both were confronted by new problems and new misunderstandings. Before this conception, they knew nothing of the disgrace that suddenly came upon them AFTER the conception took place. What was normal before was thrown into a progressive change for the worse.

Luke 1:56 And Mary stayed with her about three months, and then returned to her home.

Elizabeth was pregnant when Mary conceived. Mary visited Elizabeth when Elizabeth was in the sixth month of her pregnancy and stayed with Elizabeth for three months. Elizabeth was ready to give birth to John when Mary left to return home but Mary was gone from Joseph from shortly after she had conceived. Joseph and Mary were still “engaged” when they went to Bethlehem to pay the tax.

Luke 2:4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, 5 in order to register, along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child. 6 And it came about that while they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth. 7 And she gave birth to her first-born son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

There is no record of a marriage ceremony but in those days the customs were quite different. Isaac immediately took Rebecca into his mother’s house without a wedding ceremony. The first night of intimacy WAS the wedding ceremony. However, we might imagine the gossip that accompanied all this history of the beginnings and the ridicule that followed these proceedings. Joseph must have appeared to be blind or stupid or he was ignoring the Law about pre-marital sex.

Mat 2:12: Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord *appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise and take the Child and His mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is going to search for the Child to destroy Him.” 14 And he arose and took the Child and His mother by night, and departed for Egypt; 15 and was there until the death of Herod, that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, “OUT OF EGYPT DID I CALL MY SON.”

If all that was not enough, Herod wanted to kill Jesus so now they had to flee the country and reside for several months in Egypt, a foreign land. Surely there must be an easier way IF this was really the Son of God and the Divine Conception was really true, it would seem reasonable that they should be living fully within the blessings of God with great favor. After all this was God’s kid!

Mat 2:19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord *appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, 20 “Arise and take the Child and His mother, and go into the land of Israel; for those who sought the Child’s life are dead.” 21 And he arose and took the Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.

Mat 2:22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned by God in a dream, he departed for the regions of Galilee, 23 and came and resided in a city called Nazareth, that what was spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, “He shall be called a Nazarene.”

After all these months of traveling, a strange land and dangerous situations, with no unemployment insurance, they returned from Egypt to Nazareth, the place where they started this trial, hardship, destroyed reputation, ridicule, agony, difficulty of travel across a wilderness, misunderstanding and lack of security. We need to remember how the Angel said she was favored by God so we fully understand the prototype Son and what to expect when we also conceive the new Inner Man by being overshadowed by the Holy Spirit. IF this “prototype” is presented as “normal” then we need to adjust out thoughts about the Christian Life and the evidence that we have received the genuine thing.

After all the first “beginnings” of experiencing the personal reality from Roman 1 to Romans 6 and then being confronted with the disappointment and frustration of Romans 7 we may wonder if any of these former experiences were real. Was there really a Divine Conception that took place or maybe all this religious stuff is fantasy.

After our sins have been forgiven and we have been baptized into death and burial and have been birthed into resurrection Life and have consecrated our body to serve God, we discover that we are NOT equipped to serve God in the manner of the New Covenant. What a big disappointment when we find we are NOT yet in the Spirit but are still living in the flesh and those who are in the flesh CAN NEVER please God. If we set our goal to serve God and to bring joy to His heart by doing His will, we soon discover there is a conflict that begins in the inner Life. It is this famous conflict between the flesh and the Spirit. The solution sounds very easy; just walk in the Spirit and you will overcome the flesh.

Gal 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

Rom_7:23 but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind, and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members.

Rom 7:18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the wishing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. 19 For the good that I wish, I do not do; but I practice the very evil that I do not wish. 20 But if I am doing the very thing I do not wish, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me. 21 I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wishes to do good. 22 For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man, 23 but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind, and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members.

Surely this could NOT be true that EVIL IS PRESENT IN ME after my sins are forgiven, I have been baptized in water and consecrated my body to serve God! Could I really be a Prisoner to the Law of Sin AFTER my sins are forgiven? The problem of the “law sin” is not with the Blood but with the FLESH!

Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of

sin and of death. 3 For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Rom 8:5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, 7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so; 8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

The questions we are asked generally revolve around the confusion of “having our sins forgiven” but still facing tremendous problems and failures in our personal life! Many people confess that they feel like they have either failed God or that their “salvation” is some kind of sham. The question behind the question is this: “How can I be sure that I am really ‘saved’ because my life is a mess?”

We surely don’t intend to suggest that these failures and disappointments are “the Normal Christian Life” so just get used to it. No! Romans 7 is NOT presented as the Normal Christian Life but as a transitory but universal experience in God’s recovery of us from disaster and to equip us to fulfill His Eternal Purpose. Transitory means; not permanent; short-lived. But what if these problems and this war are still not finalized after 30 years of being “Christian?”

The problems of the flesh are overcome by NOT living after the flesh but after the Spirit. The solution is NOT to set your mind on the flesh but to turn your mind toward the Spirit. Of course this is obviously true but how to do that in a consistent way and actually experience the VICTORY OF this wonderful truth revealed in Romans 8 is confusing!

Rom 8:9 However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

This appears to be some kind of answer to the problem with the flesh but even with this knowledge that “we are NOT in the flesh” but “in the Spirit”, the problems still persist! Then what can this possibly mean that “you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.”

Now, a new question then needs to be answered. “If I am NOT in the flesh but in the Spirit, why do I have all these problems with the flesh and why is “being in the Spirit” so far from the actual reality of my experience?” If I am in the flesh how can I take my mind OFF the flesh? If I am in the Spirit why is my mind always on the flesh?

All these are legitimate questions but have you ever heard a clear answer that makes sense, is satisfying and offers a concrete solution? The “philosophy of Romans 7" or the “comfort of Romans 8" still does not give me a personal confidence that I have “overcome” the flesh and, thank God, I am now walking in the Spirit! On the contrary, I know that I am for the most part in the flesh! If Romans 8 is presented as “the Normal Christian Life” then I must NOT be “saved.”

The cliche is this; Well, brother, the Word says it, I believe it, so that settles it!

This is what the Bible says;

Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren; 30 and whom He predestined, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

Brother, you are overlooking this one great fact; God Loves us just as we are so just receive it by faith and ignore the problems!

Is that really what this says or is Romans 8 actually about overcoming in the trials and disappointments and failures. Are any of these hardships and disappointments able to separate us from the love of God?

As an example; But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Does ANY of this really confirm to us that God overlooks the fact that we are still in the flesh and there is not much we can do about it BUT God loves us anyway. Is this a confirmation that; But, thank God, in a moment and the blinking of the eye we will be transformed out of the flesh into the Spirit but for right now we will just walk in the flesh because that is the very best we can do. Does this imply; Well, Brother, know this, God understands our weaknesses so quit obsessing over something you CANNOT change!

From Romans 7 it seems clear that trying to escape from the flesh by concerted human effort will be a big waste of time. Why? The good I wanted to do, I can’t do! That is a clear and experiential fact. Well, If I can’t escape from the flesh by will power or human effort what alternatives do I have?

This is the place we must once again introduce the New Covenant as the solution to the Old Covenant. Also to once again emphasize the New Creation as the solution to the Old Creation. We must point out the New Life as the solution to the old life! What is the solution? Well, Romans 7 and Romans 8 do NOT gives us the full solution to the problems we are addressing in this document or do they fully answer the questions we have been asked.

We might clarify these thoughts if we modified the statement in Romans 8 to read; However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of Christ, that is the NEW INNER MAN and the Spirit of God dwells in you. Why is this important? Because, nothing in the outer man can overcome the flesh because they are integrally linked together in the natural realm. How do I know that? Because “I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind, and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members.” Since the flesh and the body are integrally linked together there is NO solution coming from human effort.

Rom 7:22 For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man, 23 but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind, and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members.

The New Inner Man knows something is wrong and is desperately looking for a solution but there appears to be a power, a law, so intense that it begins a war within my mind that is so extreme that it makes me a prisoner in my own body.

If the flesh is that extreme and powerful that it can make me a prisoner in my own body what can I possibly do about it? There must be NO solution so are we trapped until we experience a physical death and a future resurrection or rapture?

However, the scripture is clear that we are NOT trapped in some hopeless situation. The scripture gives us a simple solution. Since you have crucified the flesh, just start walking in the Spirit! Yes! That is wonderful but I don’t know how to do that.

Gal 5:24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

The frustration that all this causes in the individual is tremendous IF we are serious about experiencing the reality of the Christian Life revealed in scripture. But why are there so many “Christians” that have no idea that this struggle even exists. There are a multitude of those who have met the standards of salvation according to a church doctrine that have no knowledge about any war that they are experiencing on the inside. This seems like a strange thing to be talking about an internal war because they have never had ANY warfare within.

This statement may be too radical and it may seem to take an extreme position but the statement that I think covers the phenomena is this;

NO WARFARE= NO NEW INNER MAN! ACTIVE WARFARE = NEW INNER MAN!

This implies that EVERY Authentic Christian will suffer these conflicts. Romans 7 and 8 and Galatians 5 all assure us that these conflicts are normal. The conflicts are not defined as something external but internal and they are described as an inner warfare. Imagine our confusion if we didn’t know these scriptures and Paul’s experience. We might think the devil was after us and that we were in some spiritual conflict with invisible powers. Each of us who have made a consecration and set our mind on growing, developing, maturing and doing the whole will of God have already experienced this inner warfare and conflict with a power that is not easily identified.

We have met the enemy and the enemy is us! He is “ the old man” and IS within!

While, after we receive the initial signs of new life, there may not immediately be a violent conflict within simply because the inner man is not yet strong enough to wage a warfare with the flesh. Even though the flesh still has dominion we may have a sense of a new creation within. Following a genuine regeneration and the new man is conceived and takes form, the new inner person begins to awaken to a new dimension of life and being. This new element within begins to hate sin and becomes offended by the works of the flesh. This conviction becomes a new power or force within that wants victory but then is confronted by another power or force within that seems much stronger, pulling us in the opposite direction. It is these two opposing powers that become the principles in this inner warfare. However, both are us! Why? Because, there is still a duality of personalities.

The disappointment and discouragement comes when we finally recognize that the New Life of the New Man has much less power than this opposing power called flesh. Flesh then becomes a term that is rather abstract but is progressively identified and defined by the conflict in each person according to the growth and power of the new inner man.

When the new inner person, the Christian, has much less power than the old man, Adam, we define that person as carnal, fleshly or a natural man. “OLD MAN” is NOT defined by the sex of the person but by the “OLD” influence upon the person. These “Christians” are also called “babes in Christ!” Why? Because the flesh is stronger than the new baby within.

1Cor 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.

1Cor 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to babes in Christ.

We have so many scriptures confirming this negative and disruptive power within us that we have an inconvertible and absolute truth established so we can begin our investigation into this tremendous problem in the church. Carnality is a serious fact within the visible church. To ignore this problem is to ignore reality!

If we criticize carnality in the church does that make us enemies of the church? Are we just to accept carnality as normal, or to assume that “babes in Christ” in the ministry is just a fact of life and ignore this condition? Would that make us a friend of the church or an enemy of the church? This carnality may be the experience of many, many in the churches but we cannot assume that is normal Christian Church Life! If we label that SUB-CHRISTIAN does that make us enemies of the church. Would a true friend of the church ignore the very things that are destroying the church?

What is the New Covenant solution to this problem of the old life of Adam manifested in the visible church? We must begin, once again, with the new species of the new inner man that is basically “SPIRIT.” Both His essence and substance is from heaven. This new inner man is of a different species, he has a totally different origin than Adam, and he is totally without sin. In fact the Bible says he cannot sin because he was born of God.

1John_3:9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed ( SPERMA) abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1John_5:18 We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God ( the new inner man) keeps him and the evil one does not touch him.

These scriptures are many times misinterpreted and some hold to the fact that NO CHRISTIAN, who is born of God, can possibly sin because God doesn’t see it or just ignores it, or doesn’t hold us responsible simply because we are IN Christ.

The New Inner Man is of a different creation from Adam and is not born with the sin nor with the nature of Adam in him. He is of a higher creation that is above sin. The New Man is pure gold. It is the New Man who ultimately must wage this war against the flesh. But isn’t it the Spirit that wars against the flesh? Yes! But the New Creation, through which the Spirit wages this war, is the new inner man, who was born of God. Jesus was born without sin because He was NOT of the genealogy of Adam but born solely within the genealogy of God by the direst impartation of the Sperma of God. This is what is clearly recorded in John 1.

The Christian MUST first be born and then born again by the same method as Jesus was born, by the Sperma of God. What is born of God is the New Inner Man. Therefore, it is the new inner man that is Christian and NOT the old outer man. This fact, alone, is revolutionary in the visible church. The popular teaching is that the outer man receives a new spirit so the outer man is then “saved.” Since the Outer Man is the SINNER how can he be without sin? The Outer Man is born in sin but certainly is forgiven of his sin though the blood of Jesus but the new inner man is born WITHOUT sin because he was Born of God!

Growth, change and development are synonymous with the Christian Life and the New Inner Man. The New Covenant is not designed to make us static Christians that just relax in some doctrine about salvation. Christianity is designed to produce a people who are conditioned, inspired and equipped to do His Will and to fulfill His Eternal Purpose. Then what is the problem? The flesh, the old man, the babe in Christ, the natural man, the carnal person and those who are just mere men. Well, shame on them. But, wait, all these titles are just referring to the other personality within us that creates tremendous problems in the church, the family and in daily life. If this new inner person gains divine strength then the next experience is to engage in this inner warfare, daily, until the flesh is no longer an inner power, with dominion.

If I pointed out this “dichotomy” in the people in the church would that make me an enemy of the church? Or would that just make me a “minister” of the Word? If I disapprove of carnality in the ministry does that assume that I set myself above the ministry or as a judge of the ministry? Since we all face the same “demons of flesh” within us on a daily basis, we are all in this battle together. If I point out the Ultimate Truth does that make me and enemy of the church OR an enemy of the lie?

Gal_4:16 Have I therefore become your enemy by telling you the truth?

Gal 4:28 And you brethren, like Isaac, are children of promise. 29 But as at that time he

who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now also. 30 But what does the Scripture say? “CAST OUT THE BONDWOMAN AND HER SON, FOR THE SON OF THE BONDWOMAN SHALL NOT BE AN HEIR WITH THE SON OF THE FREE WOMAN.”

The CHILD of the FLESH CANNOT be an heir with the one born of the Spirit. Therefore, if we are preaching the high calling and being joint heirs with Christ, if we focus upon the deeds of the flesh, does that make us an enemy of the church that men are building? Well, at least we are NOT enemies of the Church He is building!

When we point out that ONLY the New Creation is Christian and to falsely call the old creation Christian, because he believes something about Jesus, is gross error, are we criticizing the church? NO! But the system behind these church errors must be exposed because it is giving a false hope to the attenders of the system who are entrusting their eternal destiny to a lie!

It is for that reason that we are focusing this paper upon the flesh which is our real enemy and the source of the warfare within each of us. This flesh is also the source of the problems in the spiritual and functioning church. We are not ignoring the objective spiritual warfare that attacks us from without but if we cannot overcome the one within, we are helpless to overcome the one from without. This is exactly why the week of prayer, fasting and spiritual warfare revivals accomplish NOTHING! How do I know that? Because that is what we did! Standing in the flesh and calling the devil dirty names is a waste of time.

Standing in the flesh and loudly declaring that we have the mind of Christ is a deception! Those who never escape the bondage of flesh cannot be part of the body of Christ. Why? Because, the flesh is “the old man after Adam” and is of the wrong species of man to be joined to the Lord in one Spirit.

If I see a church standing in the flesh and point that out, does that make me an enemy of the church or an enemy of the flesh. If I point out the flesh does that mean that I have overcome the flesh myself? Not at all. It just means that I am agreeing with the scriptures.

This inward battle is a battle between two inner persons, one is flesh and the other is born of God. The flesh is of the family of Adam while to new man is of the family of God. The New Man is CHRIST in you, the hope of glory! To tell people they are Christian when they are of the family of Adam is a big lie! The flesh is of the Adam / human species. The new man is of the Christ / God species.

Within these two persons there are two opinions, two interpretations, two goals, two directions, and two arguments about everything! Within these two persons there are two minds, two natures, two characters, two sources, two wills, two kings and two Kingdoms. If we really preach the Kingdom of God and ONE KING can we ignore the flesh and that fallen king and kingdom and pretend it doesn’t matter because “we are already saved?”

Everyone of us, in some degree or another, was at one time at war with God. We were enemies of God, (even if He was not at war with us) we were hostile to spiritual things and strangers to any covenant with God. To be reconciled to God means we are no longer at war but we have a declaration of peace. That should mean that we have changed sides and now we are standing on the Lords side.

Exo 32:25 Now when Moses saw that the people were out of control--for Aaron had let them get out of control to be a derision among their enemies-- 26 then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, “Whoever is for the LORD, stand by me!” And all the sons of Levi gathered together to him. 27 He said to them, “Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, ‘Every man of you put his sword upon his thigh, and go back and forth from gate to gate in the camp, and kill every man his brother, and every man his friend, and every man his neighbor.’” 28 So the sons of Levi did as Moses instructed, and about three thousand men of the people fell that day.

Because of this consecration God chose the Tribe of Levi to be the priests. Of course we are not taking up the sword to slay our fellow travelers but we need to consecrate ourselves to slay every enemy within that will keep us from the full promises of God. The Bible identifies that giant enemy and that Goliath as the flesh. David was a man of war that cut off the head of the enemy / flesh. We tell the story of David and Goliath but then we make friends with Goliath to seek peace. We create a doctrine that God loves Goliath so we should turn the other cheek, forgive him, accept him so we can coexist with him. Coexisting with the flesh is our national pastime. We coexist with the flesh in the church as an act of love and Christ-likeness!

If I point that out in the church does that make me opposed to the church and an enemy of the church? NOT IN MY MIND! It makes me a minister of the Word and an enemy of the enemies that are destroying the church! Am I defending the message of the Kingdom? Yes, even though it needs NO defending because it is the TRUTH! The lie is from the flesh!
