#473 – Inner And Outer Truth

As we read and begin to understand certain scripture we may be amazed to find that there is a certain reality and a strange kind of life resident within these words of the Bible. We recognize that these words are different from reading any other book or newspaper. There is a strange but recognizable truth that seems to be hidden within the words. This “truth” goes beyond our normal understanding of outward things. This other kind of truth or knowing is unique to the scriptures and is probably the source of “conversion” of people that may have never opened the Bible before in their life.

During the days of the Full Gospel Business Men’s meetings we heard many testimonies of men who were converted in a hotel room while reading a Gideon Bible. Sudden conviction would come upon them and they would begin to weep for hours. Of course all the testimonies were not like this but the essence was of a “truth” being imparted that was sudden and extraordinary.

This indicates that “truth” can and is communicated in other ways than by reading or by hearing. This inner truth seems to by-pass both reading and hearing and comes to man by some invisible and unrecognizable method from outside of man. However, the knowing is within man in some undefinable location and we know things but we don’t know how we know.

This method of communication is called intuition, perception or even revelation. This is the inner ability to understand or know something immediately, without conscious reasoning or by normal means of communication. We may know something but not know how we know. We might call this “inner truth.” Inner truth may come by years of learning, through certain trials, through personal rejection or thousands of other added experiences. It may also come instantly by revelation and be totally unrelated to outward experience.

Since we use the Tabernacle of Moses quite often to understand spiritual things it might be possible to understand these different realms of truth from this graphic of eternal things. For example;

If we divide “truth” up into two dimensions; one for the Outer Court and the other for the Holy Place we would see two kinds of Truth. One is outer truth and the other is an inner truth. Both dimensions of truth are true and valid. However, both are separated by these different realms of illumination or different kinds of light. These will indicate different realms and degrees of knowing. The Outer Court, since it is only illuminated by natural light, is limited to the natural understanding of a natural, logical truth. By contrast, the Holy Place is only illuminated by the Seven Spirits of God and reveals another method of knowing that is not limited to natural ability. This realm touches upon the areas of inner recognition, intuition, perceptions and revelations.

To function in this dimension, it is first necessary to develop an inner mechanism that can comprehend things from that realm of illumination. For example; truth that is revealed in this inner capacity can only be known by an “inside” capability. This “capability” is limited to the new inner man and his level of development and his capacity to function in the invisible realms. This “Inner truth” has the ability to modify or adjust the “outer truth” to the reality at hand. For example; The scriptures reveal levels of truth that will vary depending upon our spiritual capacity to comprehend spiritual things. The verses do not vary but our understanding of truth varies as the inner man develops. Why? Because there develops a capacity to receive and know a combination of both inner and outer truth by knowledge and by revelation.

There is “something” inherent within man that is part of creation that can respond to the drawing of God and the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Even those who are dead in trespasses and sins can respond to this drawing by God from the other dimension of Life. In the Tabernacle we could point to the Most Holy Place as the “location” of this drawing. Even though this level of “drawing” operates on the lowest level of intuition and perception it can still communicate “truth” to some area of man that is beyond the human capacity to hear or understand. It seems that this realm is partially active in just beginning the Christian Life.

As the real Christian experience develops we should have an inner growing “Life” that should recognize spiritual truth by this inner method of knowing. (We are avoiding the popular word “spirit” on purpose (because of familiarity) and replacing it with “life.”) It is in these inner “dimensions” that we recognize even static truth of black words on white paper as the Word of God. In these realms we may also reject other “truth” as just the thoughts and opinions of man. This new and developing dimension of intuition, perception or revelation should recognize “truth” in both the visible and the invisible realms. As this realm of growth of the new inner man develops it should be able to reject questionable truth or to recognize the opinions and human concepts of the natural man.

Of course the scriptures will always be our guide and essential to “seeing” truth but it is this inner witness that confirms or rejects the “truth” that we “see” and how we comprehend and process the “truth” and what we accept as valid.

It is very disturbing when we recognize that this “inner knowing” is not functioning in recognized ministries. It seems obvious that this capacity of the new inner man to understand spiritual things does vary from person to person that we meet. It is obvious that the inner capacity to understand spiritual things is not universal in the visible church. Each person varies in their perception, intuition and degree of revelation. For that reason we encounter persons in each of these realms of illumination and each of these understand things in different ways and in different degrees of reality. For that reason there may not ever be total agreement on the interpretation of Life, death or function from one degree of illumination to the next.

However, each degree of illumination should agree upon certain “truth” from that realm or we say there should be a “common witness” to truth. For example; The Holy Place function, being within the New Covenant Provision and its Priesthood, has “light” compatibly with that realm. We are assuming there will be a universal acceptance of this truth among the Kingdom seekers. Why? Because there should be the common ground of Spiritual Illumination from that dimension bringing some revelation from that realm. However, even though this may be true, there is still quite a suspicion of these Kingdom truths among a large group of believers.

This is one of the difficulties we are encountering in presenting the Gospel of the Kingdom and the accompanying Priesthood after the Order of Melchizedek because both should be functioning in that same dimension of illumination and reality. Finding those who are already sensing the need of greater and of a different kind of illumination has been slow even though we assume there are many out there who are seeking this truth.

Without this “series of transformations” revealed in the hidden foundations of the seven Outer Court dimensions, the development of this inner life will be seriously delayed. Since this Eternal Priesthood is beyond the mechanical systems of church it will depend heavily upon the inner knowing and inner truth for its function. Why? Because the scriptures stop short of telling us how this functions in real Life. However, because of the illumination, within the new inner man, by the Seven Spirits of God, there should be an inner knowing that transcends outward knowledge (gnosis). The Holy Place Priesthood should be equipped and able to function in this higher atmosphere of Life. We are speculating that this “equipping” is accomplished within the combinations of the hidden preparations of the Outer Court development.

We arrive at that conclusion from the “combination” of additions and their reciprocal multiplications that are revealed in 2 Peter 1. Why? Because the additions of these things provide the entrance into the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This is where the King / Priesthood of Melchizedek begins, as part of that Kingdom.

If this is true, how are we supposed to know about this realm of greater and purer light or how are we to know and understand that we have a need of that dimension of spiritual light? Why is not the natural light of the Outer Court sufficient for our salvation?

1John 2:26 These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. 27 And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.

Now it is clear that it is the “inner anointing” that teaches the new inner man how to function in these invisible realms. It we are content with the Outer Court anointing that is upon us but just in the “in part measure” or down payment measure we will have no desire to seek the next dimension. This is the result of not experiencing each and every hidden dimension of the Outer Court foundations.

Without this “series of inner life transformations,” inherent within the Seven Outer Court Foundations, there will not be sufficient development of the new inner man and his ability to perceive these invisible realms. Therefore, the new man will still be limited to natural understanding and be content with the status quo.

Up until now we have had no success preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom or the next restoration to these casual believers. If there is no drawing into this Spiritual Light of the Holy Place, the New Covenant Priesthood Ministry will be too complicated or seen as unnecessary. Unfortunately, man / ministry cannot help others to receive the inner anointing that teaches these things. We can only preach certain facts to inform others there is such a thing as a further anointing. If people have no recognition or witness of this “truth” in the inner man our words just fall to the ground.

This is the frustration of preaching the Kingdom because God is Sovereign over whom He accepts into His Government and to whom He teaches these invisible things. Trying to find these people whom He is drawing will require a communication within our inner man or we will just continue to search in each country for one here and one there. I assume that there is a more excellent way than what we are using. We see God specifically directing Paul and Barnabas to one person in Acts 16.

Act 16:6 And they passed through the Phrygian and Galatian region, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia; 7 and when they had come to Mysia, they were trying to go into Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not permit them; 8 and passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. 9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a certain man of Macedonia was standing and appealing to him, and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 And when he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

This is how they found Lydia and a church was begun there. Two other dead end trips were avoided because of the leading and intervention of God. This is the realm of guidance we must seek now to avoid all this frustration of traveling thousand of miles and accomplishing very little. I assume this “direction” to go to Macedonia was illuminated totally within the intuition of the new inner man. Why? Because the Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Jesus speak in the new inner man. Why? Because that is where they dwell and the Holy Spirit provides this inner anointing that teaches the invisible things. I am assuming that they speak in the invisible realms of the new inner man when he is able to hear.

Being able to function in the realms of inner light and truth will save us much frustration and wasted time and resources. If we could just go to the ones God was already drawing to Himself it would be much easier. Unfortunately, this “inner guidance” and intuition within the new inner man is not yet working in me. Philip was sent to the wilderness to minister to the eunuch by direct revelation.

Therefore, let us try to search out our personal defects that prevent us from functioning in that dimension. We must soon discover how this next dimension of ministry really works. It seems obvious that the Priesthood Ministry after the Order of Melchizedek is not by trial and error but by direct revelation. This next level ministry is NOT about wasting more time but going directly to the proper destination and sharing our dimension of Light or receiving the understanding that we currently lack. This may seem to be the impossible dream but the pattern that God has given us reveals this possibility.

The problem is not in God’s plan but in our own lack of development in this area of the new inner man so we regularly know things from that realm. We assume that God is always speaking from between the Cherubim but we are not yet able to hear. It is in the Holy Place Life and Ministry that this dimension of guidance and understanding is normal. Otherwise how could we burn incense that was wholly for God and not try to do it by trial and error. Even our airplanes do not fly at that level of trial and error but function by a non- negotiable and exact system. Surely God’s system can be no less exact. It seems that the trial and error system of ministry has run its course. At least I am frustrated and tired of it.

This “trial and error” system of doing His will is in this same objective realm of outside truth. This occurs when we try to discover the personal will of God by studying the scriptures. Even the scriptures clearly tell us that we only discover the Will of God after we present our body to Him as a living sacrifice and then through the renewing of our mind after we have rejected the world system. It is not complicated but really confusing to the natural man who is looking for a natural guidance into a natural system of religion that is in the wrong realm to discover anything.
