#22 Tabernacle: Incense: Scriptures

EXO 25:6 oil for lighting, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense,

EXO 30:1 “Moreover, you shall make an altar as a place for burning incense; you shall make it of acacia wood.

EXO 30:7 “And Aaron shall burn fragrant incense on it; he shall burn it every morning when he trims the lamps. EXO 30:8 “And when Aaron trims the lamps at twilight, he shall burn incense. { There shall be} perpetual incense before the \Lord\ throughout your generations. EXO 30:9 “You shall not offer any strange incense on this altar, or burnt offering or meal offering; and you shall not pour out a libation on it.

EXO 30:27 and the table and all its utensils, and the lampstand and its utensils, and the altar of incense,

EXO 30:35 “And with it you shall make incense, a perfume, the work of a perfumer, salted, pure, {and} holy.

EXO 30:37 “And the incense which you shall make, you shall not make in the same proportions for yourselves; it shall be holy to you for the \ Lord. \

EXO 31:8 the table also and its utensils, and the pure {gold} lampstand with all its utensils, and the altar of incense, EXO 31:11 the anointing oil also, and the fragrant incense for the holy place, they are to make {them} according to all that I have commanded you. “ EXO 35:8 and oil for lighting, and spices for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense,

LEV 5:11 ‘But if his means are insufficient for two turtledoves or two young pigeons, then for his offering for that which he has sinned, he shall bring the tenth of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering; he shall not put oil on it or place incense on it, for it is a sin offering.

LEV 6:15 ‘Then one {of them} shall lift up from it a handful of the fine flour of the grain offering, with its oil and all the incense that is on the grain offering, and he shall offer {it} up in smoke on the altar, a soothing aroma, as its memorial offering to the \Lord.\ LEV 10:1 Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took their respective firepans, and after putting fire in them, placed incense on it and offered strange fire before the \Lord\, which He had not commanded them.

LEV 16:12 “And he shall take a firepan full of coals of fire from upon the altar before the \Lord\, and two handfuls of finely ground sweet incense, and bring {it} inside the veil. LEV 16:13 “And he shall put the incense on the fire before the \Lord,\ that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on {the ark of} the testimony, lest he die.

NUM 7:14 one gold pan of ten {shekels,} full of incense;

NUM 16:17 “And each of you take his firepan and put incense on it, and each of you bring his censer before the \Lord,\ two hundred and fifty firepans; also you and Aaron {shall} each {bring} his firepan.” NUM 16:18 So they each took his {own} censer and put fire on it, and laid incense on it; and they stood at the doorway of the tent of meeting, with Moses and Aaron.

NUM 16:35 Fire also came forth from the \Lord\ and consumed the two hundred and fifty men who were offering the incense.

NUM 16:40 as a reminder to the sons of Israel that no layman who is not of the descendants of Aaron should come near to burn incense before the \Lord;\ that he might not become like Korah and his company-- just as the \Lord\ had spoken to him through Moses.

NUM 16:46 And Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer and put in it fire from the altar, and lay incense {on it;} then bring it quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them, for wrath has gone forth from the \Lord,\ the plague has begun!” NUM 16:47 Then Aaron took {it} as Moses had spoken, and ran into the midst of the assembly, for behold, the plague had begun among the people. So he put {on} the incense and made atonement for the people.

DEU 33:10 “They shall teach Thine ordinances to Jacob, And Thy law to Israel. They shall put incense before Thee, And whole burnt offerings on Thine altar.

1SA 2:28 ‘And did I {not} choose them from all the tribes of Israel to be My priests, to go up to My altar, to burn incense, to carry an ephod before Me; and did I {not} give to the house of your father all the fire {offerings} of the sons of Israel?

2CH 13:11 “And every morning and evening they burn to the \Lord\ burnt offerings and fragrant incense, and the showbread is {set} on the clean table, and the golden lampstand with its lamps is {ready} to light every evening; for we keep the charge of the \Lord\ our God, but you have forsaken Him.

2CH 26:16 But when he became strong, his heart was so proud that he acted corruptly, and he was unfaithful to the \Lord\ his God, for he entered the temple of the \Lord\ to burn incense on the altar of incense.

2CH 26:18 And they opposed Uzziah the king and said to him, “It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the \Lord,\ but for the priests, the sons of Aaron who are consecrated to burn incense. Get out of the sanctuary, for you have been unfaithful, and will have no honor from the \Lord\ God.” 2CH 26:19 But Uzziah, with a censer in his hand for burning incense, was enraged; and while he was enraged with the priests, the leprosy broke out on his forehead before the priests in the house of the \ Lord, \beside the altar of incense.

2CH 29:7 “They have also shut the doors of the porch and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense or offered burnt offerings in the holy place to the God of Israel. 2CH 29:11 “My sons, do not be negligent now, for the \Lord\ has chosen you to stand before Him, to minister to Him, and to be His ministers and burn incense.”

2CH 32:12 ‘Has not the same Hezekiah taken away His high places and His altars, and said to Judah and Jerusalem, “You shall worship before one altar, and on it you shall burn incense”?

PSA 141:2 May my prayer be counted as incense before Thee; The lifting up of my hands as the evening offering.

ISA 1:13 “Bring your worthless offerings no longer, Incense is an abomination to Me. New moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies-- I cannot endure iniquity and the solemn assembly.

ISA 43:23 “You have not brought to Me the sheep of your burnt offerings; Nor have you honored Me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with offerings, Nor wearied you with incense.

ISA 66:3 “{But} he who kills an ox is {like} one who slays a man; He who sacrifices a lamb is {like} the one who breaks a dog’s neck; He who offers a grain offering {is like one who offers} swine’s blood; He who burns incense is {like} the one who blesses an idol. JER 17:26 “They will come in from the cities of Judah and from the environs of Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin, from the lowland, from the hill country, and from the Negev, bringing burnt offerings, sacrifices, grain offerings and incense, and bringing sacrifices of thanksgiving to the house of the \Lord.\

EZE 8:11 And standing in front of them were seventy elders of the house of Israel, with Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan standing among them, each man with his censer in his hand, and the fragrance of the cloud of incense rising.
